O.P.M. Ltd Manufacturing Process
Finger-jointed pine door jambs are a common feature in traditional carpentry. Door jambs are the vertical components that frame a door, forming the structure in which the door opens and closes. When made from finger-jointed pine, it typically means that pine wood is used to create the jambs using a mortise and tenon assembly, sometimes reinforced with dowels for added strength.
Manufacturing Process
Wood Selection
The first step in the process is selecting the appropriate pine wood. The wood must be dry, straight, and free of knots or other imperfections that could compromise the quality of the final product.

Board Jointing
Once the wood has been selected and cut to the appropriate dimensions, it’s time to move on to the jointing stage. Jointing is the process by which the edges of the boards are prepared to be assembled into a flat and uniform panel. This involves the use of a jointer machine, which flattens and smooths the edges of the boards. The edges are made straight and parallel to each other, allowing for a seamless assembly.

Moulder and Tenoning
The moulder shapes the wood by giving it specific forms, such as mouldings or door components. Tenoning, on the other hand, involves cutting tenons—protrusions on a piece of wood—to assemble them and create strong, durable joints.
